As long as the bit you staked isn't the same area of the collar that was staked before you won't. If you've restaked exactly the same spot you probably will.

It was the same part of the collar which was re staked.
As an engineer I find it very unlikely that the hub nut could unwind. 2015 90 Hard Top 1998 90 300Tdi - chuffed to have another one 2013 Freelander 2 - for posher trips to the shop 1996 300 Tdi 90 Hard Top - sold 19th June 2020 - miss it, loved it 2016 90 Hard Top - demolished Nov 2019 by young driver 3.5 times over the drug limit 2010 90 Hard Top - now sold Ex mil 90 - now sold |

It is not good engineering practice to re stake a used nut, let alone if re staked in the same location. Having said that, I also believe that the staked part will not fall off in 3 plastic deformation actions. It will of course work harden (reason why it would snap off).
So bottom line, I think it is ok to do to get you out of trouble but it could get you in trouble if left long term. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Here’s the rub …
Prior to posting this, I have actually ordered 2 new ones, proper Landrover ones. I thought I’d put this out there to see if anyone (else) had reused the old ones, albeit as a temporary measure. Still can’t see how the nut could unwind itself if I’m honest.
