2.4 Turbo Replacement
I've done some looking around but couldn't find much on the subject.

Has anyone done a turbo replacement on a TDCI 2.4? Are they bad to do? Looks like it should be fairly simple, as long as the bolts come out alright! Rolling Eyes

I'll be doing oil and filters too, is there anything else except the oil lines that will need including? Worth getting replacement bolts for the exhaust manifold? Think I've already got a gasket for it..

Turbo seems to have a bit of resistance at a certain point when turning the spindle by hand. Struggles to spin up so no boost unless thrashing it, but as soon as its spinning you can keep it going by staying on the boost.

You will have to remove the studs to get it out, which is a bloody stupid bit of design, so possibly get spare studs.

Yup, so I've got the Naka gasket already. I've got oil feed, all bolts, studs and gaskets.

With the turbo included, all from LRDirect, it coming in at £601 inc VAT. So a good £700 cheaper than getting the cheapest garage to do it. I wonder if I'll regret that when I'm halfway through the job with 3 rounded studs. Whistle

I think I'll start soaking those nuts in penetrating fluid tonight! Laughing

It’s a really easy but annoying job. You’ve just got to remove stuff that is in the way as it wasn’t designed for the vehicle.

Just replacing mine too, I managed to do it without removing the exhaust studs.
Is it really critical to replace the oil feed pipe ?
