I feel your pain!!
My first order was first week of June, and I'm now on order number four after enforced changes and deleted models etc. Still not got any firm dates, possibly March said the salesman, but that was just a platitude! What were the key extras you couldn't get? |

Plus, I saw some figures for production at the Slovakian plant that would indicate that well over 20k vehicles would be built in those two months, (ok maybe less because of shortages) but there can't be that number of higher spec cars to push their way in front of my lowly SE? I wanted the clearsight mirror because i regularly have stuff in the back, I wanted the Matrix lights because I drive a lot at night and I wanted the digital dash because the analogue one doesn't look half as good... MY22 110 D250 SE > MY23 110 D250 XS Edition > MY24 110 D300 HSE X-Dynamic

April order...still no build date. Still not on the system. Well and truly ...... Currently looking at a Volvo XC70 as a runaround. |

That's the frustrating thing, you can't apply logic to it because there are always cases that break that, a friend ordered one after me and got hers within two months, a very similar spec to mine, costing less overall.
It seems a lottery, I spoke to someone in the CEO's office after a request and she said cars are built in order that the orders come in, when I said that's not true based on my anecdotal evidence she said well some may jump ahead depending on parts availability... I want the clearsight and matrix and interactive dash. Been told nothing about clearsight but told I can't have the other 2. But then I decided the LED lights were ample as I wanted to fit some aux lights. If they keep despeccing the car then I'll have to reconsider my position. I have an SE on order which looks like the XS in a normal vehicle, No XS spec for HT 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

20k unites well that is not a lot I read somewhere that the backlog is 36k units and Defender sales are still going strong. They also say that in their last fiscal quater (calendar 2021 Jan-Mar) they presict the chip situation will get better. So after no dates between 07.07.2021 until 01.12.2021 The story goes aa this.
December 21 dates had been locked in for build date February 11th 2022 delivery to me March 4th 2022. On January 26th dealer said dates shiftet 4weeks to build date March 11th 2022. On a visit to the dealer on February 8th we looked into the system and build date was pulled forward to February 18th. Today I got the VIN   so looks like the car will be finished tomorrow.
