"The overhead console has a bank of four pre-wired auxiliary switches (and a further four as an option), meaning you can plug-and-play any exterior lighting, winches, or third-party accessories." https://ineosgrenadier.com/en-gb/the-vehic...-work-hard Click image to enlarge From the way the panels are configured, it could be just a single panel is blank (rather than individual switch blanks), and 4 bolts/screws to swap if required. You'll never notice anything is missing. Of course if they follow JLR, you'd get a template and be told to cut the holes yourself, but the plastic retaining clips would break, and a new panel could only be bought as part of the whole roof console, and they'd be on a 4 month backlog. Wow, where do they find these people? Poorly scripted, background research limited to a briefing which he then got wrong, constantly fiddling with his hair and saying um all the time. Children's tv has a lot to answer for. |

Was it designed by committee over the phone?

Im sure I’m not the only one on here who also occasionally peruses Pistonheads.com forums. It interesting to see the difference in discussion between here and there regarding the Grenadier. Any thread on there gets pounced on by intolerant know it alls who refuse to allow any positive discussion. The current thread about the interior is like the polar opposite of this one. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Almost! I think folk must have to work hard to be miserable about it, but some persist. There are some lovely functional design statements in there, the old fashioned aviation switchgear looks great (in my opinion) but also provisions 4 bolt blanking plates for the additional of auxiliary kit. Touchsceen for those that like, rotary dial for those that don't. Recaro seat because well Recaro make really good seats, ditto the engine and gearbox from BMW.
I think there will be some folk who may be disappointed that the current Defender didn't head down this route, but let's admire it for what it is, a really nicely designed tool / toy / present to self. I can't wait to have a test drive. |

This is a good video I think and the presenter is a proper car (and bicycle) guy.
Confirms that the Speedo will be in front of the driver and all those little cap head screws are real and not fake. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

Click image to enlarge Do you think that going along with the airplane cockpit look, I wonder if they would consider front ejector seats as part of a frontal collision control. Admittedly if you had a roof rack it could end up as badly as having an ejector seat on a helicopter and perhaps not as effective if upside down, but hey, suits my sense of humour.. coffee time me thinks……… |

I have always been positive about the Grenadier, but have to say I am not a fan of a very cluttered interior on a utility 4x4.
I understand them putting up the fully-loaded version, but I think many "users" (rather than lifestylers) would prefer the more basic version with discreet panels covering un-needed switchgear. The other thing I know from experience is that interiors can get covered in dust, so the more flat, uncomplicated surfaces the better. I'm not sure this interior will be easy to wipe down or keep clean. |

True, but worth it for this comment alone: Click image to enlarge A few screen grabs that show us a bit more: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge A completely different door card on the German model with gas strut Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Seats fold flat, but Ineos appear to have their own version of "stepgate" Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Last edited by Supacat on 7th Jul 2021 5:43pm.
