Maybe you could install a large load, some big highwatt ceramic resistors bolted to the chassis as a heatsink. That way you could load the alternator as much as you liked at the flick of a switch. A few of these in series would load it up bigtime. Pom |

I wouldn't be without it. It does get ice cold though, so I can't run it for too long, I usually just put it on for 5 mins to lower the air temp, that usually works fine until it starts to warm up again. There is a lot of heat transmistted through the floor on a Puma, and with so little airflow you have to have aircon. With the normal blower the air is always lukewarm once the vehicle has warmed up a bit. I don't think its the greatest aircon anyone has designed, as the power output of the fan is a bit feeble (on mine anyway) and in a 110 its a huge volume to cool down, but it does make a difference on a very hot day. 2011 110 USW

We've retro fitted air con on a Puma and there was no need for the 'sticky out' grill.
I'd put a link to our blog, but all the pictures have gone down So here are just the pictures without the write up ! https://picasaweb.google.com/letsoffroad/A...qz_4MzK9QE |

I reckon you'd be looking at around £1180 from a good Indy.

OK fair enough - from your post above you said you did it - did you do it yourself... and if so how hard/how much was that... and I guess (green newbie Q) is it all in the manual and where did you get one of them from? Did you use parts from a breaker... Thanks D MY12 110 XS Ute, silver & grey now... '75 109 fire engine (nearly ready to roll)... |

You could go this way, and fit it just for the summer. I know it's a bit rough and ready but fits in with the Defender ethos

Seems a typical Indian engineering solution You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
