Evening all,
I'm trying to remove the visco fan on my 2007 2.4 tdci Defender Puma, in order to replace the brake vacuum pump. Problem is, I can't seem to loosen the fan? I tried the trick with the hammer and the spanner, but it's just too tight. Any tips or ideas? Also is it really necessary to remove the fan? The service manual seems to leave it on, but takes it away for purposes of clarity (page 191). Thanks all for your help! |

I always use a SDS hammer drill, on hammer only action with a blunt chisel - a very quick zap on the edge of the nut (no locking tool required) and it spins off - leaving the nut virtually unmarked!
Trust me I'm a doctor - (not really) Keith |
