Should work just fine but be careful with used modulators they aren't the most reliable particularly on vehicles that stand around and don't get regular fluid changes

Hi Ben. Often thought of doing the exact same thing with my 2003 110. Where the heck did you find all the wiring from?! Good plan to do the mod though. Plan B for me is the fitting of Ashcroft ATB diff centres as a mechanical alternative. Looking forward to your install |

Cheers guys
yep re the wiring I bought an "XS" spec fully loaded bulkhead/main loom with ABS etc included - YMC500863 that contains everything you need and plugs straight into the sensors on the axles (albeit I'm assuming the rears will be 17 inches short for a 130 lol). Not looking forward to the loom swap though but will allow me to fit heated windscreen/heated seats, electric windows central locking etc to my previously poverty spec 130 Initially I was looking for a YMC500903 loom which is the XS spec minus ABS but this one came up at a reasonable price and given the 130s tendency to instantly lock the wheels up in the wet I though it may be worth it..... ps I do have another loom here YMC500872 which has ABS but no heated seats/windscreen that I may have up for sale at some point. Regards Ben |

if anyone has any scrap rear ABS sensors I'd be interested to cut the wiring off and see how easy it would be to make a short extension out of them

You can buy Wabco extensions off ebay.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WABCO-TRUCK-ABS...890.l49286 It would be worth changing the shuttle valve before fitting the modulator and potentially doing the wiring mod at the same time. Reduce any future issues. Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |

Didn't really think that ABS extension wires would be an off the shelf thing but pretty handy |

I believe that they are used extensively on HGVs.

No need to look for old ABS sensors as a wire source. The wire from sensor is just a pair of twisted wire in secondary rubber cover. I have repaired several broken wires, replacing parts of them with hand twisted two FLRY wires and covering them in heatshrink tubes.
Using old wires is not the best idea, they can crack because of their age and previous use. I had the same idea, retrofiting ABS to 130, but I have to renovate the car first. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "BlufĂnek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo |

The shuttle valve is just one of many issues that cause modulator faults, out of all vehicles D2 and Defenders appear to have more than average modulator faults |

Just on 'keeping TD5 ABS working'. When I had mine, I used to plug my Nanocom in periodically and run the pump once for each corner. If I didn't do this it became sluggish (and always speeded up noticeably as I worked my way round the corners). Cheers, Guy.
