if its anything like the old defender you remove the handle from the alko anti sway hitch and buy a removable handle for it

Tis a pain.
Yes I hitch with the rear door partially open. You can manage to do it, keeping an eye of the jockey wheel not hitting the door, and sliding the ALKO hitch under the door. A faff! 2020 First Ed 110. replaced by 2021 250 110 Commercial Defender_uk |

I never remove my spare wheel to hitch my caravan.......I usually have the rear door open whilst hitching.

Mine just clears in off road height. Although like already said, I hitch up with the door open. Close the door after locking the hitch, then raise the jockey wheel.
