Apparently mozzies are becoming bigger (in the south) and more problematic (across France). Went on hols to the Vaucluse last year, cottage rather than tent, and I was eaten alive. Mrs Grenadier’s bites = 0. Big Cry

So my suggestion, if you want to avoid mozzies and don’t want to eat a clove of raw garlic a day (which I did in Kenya, and does work), is not to holiday where there are mozzies. Alps, brilliant. And islands are often good, if they have altitude and wind, like the Tramantunas in Mallorca. Beyond that, unless you come on holiday with me (where I’ll be bitten to Censored ) the little b@&#ards will get you eventually. Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

Or get one of these and stick it under your awning.

You’ll normally be safe(ish) from mozzies during the day, it’s early evening and overnight when they get you. During the Night your bivvie will keep you protected, it’s the hours beforehand you will suffer as you don’t have any mozzie screens. This will remedy that problem.

If you choose to go out for dinks/dinner where you might be vulnerable, wear light long legged trousers and long sleeved shirts. Linen or light cotton. Incredibly unfashionable and possibly too warm, but does the job better than shorts, t and sandals. And if you have the option, sit where there is a breeze, be it on a terrace by the sea, or indoors by a fan. But if you sit somewhere hot and with no wind, your life is in your own hands.

Bon courage mon brave. Monsieur Le Grenadier
