Yep, I have tried that formatting, maybe this SD card just doesn't work with the nanocom, I"ll go look for another and try that Smile

What make and size are you using diesel_jim?

You need an old type SD card. My own evo has a 256Mb SD card that works perfectly. I tried a newer 1Gb card once, and it wouldn't handle files at all on that.

Oddly enough the first 3 I tried were old, and the one that worked and I could copy my ecu map too was a new 8gb sandisk micro SD .....I guess it's quite random......

I'm just reading some threads on forums, if I am allowed to post one here....http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=63548

And there are a few comments about remapped tuned engines having stress issues etc, is the twisted stage 1 remap a relatively safe one? I would hate to damage my treasure .......does it need careful driving, I havn't done anything with inter coolers etc yet.

No it will be fine @ a stage one, and even a stage 3, if you engage brain first.

Mine is an old Mk1 nanocom, so doesn't have any SD card sockets on it. It's got some internal memory (about enough for 2 ECU files) so I have to upload to & from my laptop. no big deal really.

Glad the tune worked!

Google this : calculating the nanocom checksum

You should have your answer on the .tun and .map.

If you don't understand what it means, then don't mess with it.

I'm not trying to say what you can do or can't do with it. So draw your own conclusions to the information. That's all I should say. From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At 125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island.

If you are worried, or want to do the job properly, then put some instrumentation on the engine. A minimum would be a thermocouple probe in the exhaust manifold. That way, you are keeping an eye on things if you need to use your Defender in a more extreme environment (sustained towing across Europe, trips to mountain resorts, trips to southern France/Spain, etc. etc.). Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.
