Looks great!
Bizarre why the wheels aren't central to the body, I can't think of any reason, but it looks along way out! are the wheels central to chassis? If so then take the chassis to body measurement to see where its really out.

Might be a daft question but are the wheels definitely the same?

I have had my tape measure out and there is no specific culprit. Just seems to be a combination of small alignment issues.
Distance between chassis rails and discs is about 10mm different. Tub to chassis is a bit out as well. Wheels are definitely the same (although I did need to check). Recon it is one of those 'features' I will live with as I am not really prepared to undertake major surgery to sort it. Still toying with the idea of some 235 or 265 Coopers on et08 modulars in which case it would not be anywhere near as noticeable ![]() |

How flat was the ground where these photos were taken? It looks from the camber in the photo like the left hand wheel is higher up than the right hand wheel, which might explain the difference. Could be an illusion based on the photo angle though?
Were there any weights in the back which might be tilting the body over to the left hand side? 2005 Td5 90 XS 1989 V8 110 CSW |

It is not unusual on Defenders, and is a result of the legendary build tolerances.
I have had wheel/tyre combos which rub on one side but not the other, and one side of my Defender is about 12mm longer than the other. ![]() |
