We bought one when we got out there, a Russian jeep. Helps to blend in

We are only planning on travelling for around 15 days, i think its about 1500 miles in total, so im not sure buying the car would be the cheapest solution, but im happy to be dissuaded! Were you following a particular route or did you change it up when you were out there?

I lived out there, was based down in the middle of the Gobi desert most of the time.
For 15 days the cost of getting the car to Mongolia, sorting the customs out etc etc would be prohibitive. If the mongol rally is running next year it might be worth giving that a go. |
