Transfer box diff fault
Had vibration from drive train, took the front drive shaft off to check front end, found I had no drive to the back wheels even with diff lock on, hand break still works, could it be diff fault or transfer box?

Probably just the center diff lock did not engage (at fault or ceased linkage). Did the dash light for center diff lock illuminate?

The handbrake locks the rear propshaft, so as long the rear diff is ok, it will work. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

How are you testing this?

If you have no drive to the rear, and diff lock not engaged you wouldn’t be able to drive it.

I will make sure the diff lock engaged then remove the front prop shaft and see what happens, it's a plan.......can't get the light on to confirm diff lock engaged could this be causing my vibration at speed, are faults with diff locks common the link looks good and it will go into low ratio

If you have been manoeuvring to park it can then be difficult to engage diff lock, also if the gearbox is cold or the linkage needs lubricating. So could be any of these or a combination of them. Hence every time I drive, just before I park at home , I run the box through a diff lock sequence a few times and do the same between high and low range. Just to keep everything free and working. A short drive forward and back in a straight line generally fixes the issue if it won’t engage.
