Passenger seat just unbolts I believe, rear seats I’m not too sure on, the base can be pulled out. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

I assumed the passenger seat would just unbolt but then I started thinking about seat belt sensors and such getting upset, hopefully this isn't an issue. I saw on another thread somewhere that a Dutch chap had converted an S into a HT and thus took out the rear seats as a whole. Again, hopefully this is simple enough and reversible. If anyone has any more information it would be greatly received.

You might hit a problem when you unplug the airbag in the front seat. I would think it would cause a dtc and put the airbag warning light on.

Interesting.. may have to experiment and have a look when I get it. In my old 90 I just flip the passenger seat down, and I have a platform that sits across the centre bulkhead and rests on a bracket and leg at the back, and the front bulkhead past the passenger seat at the front. It's very comfortable at night and makes a handy table during the day.
I think my D4 is probably more comfortable than a travelodge room to be fair! |

Your better with a 110 (5 seater) if this is a regular thing - just fold the rear seats down and as long as your about 6 foot or less should fit fine....
Much less hassle... |

I don't sleep in the back all that often really, and the 90 suits me in every other way a lot better than a 110. I've loved having the D4 but I really don't need such a big wagon and having always had 90's of the "original" variety and loving the size, I'm happy to compromise for the odd occasion where I'd like to sleep in the back. I'm still confident I can make it work with enough side ways thinking though!

The back seats just clip in. There’s a thread in this group somewhere where a new 90 has been converted from a station wagon to a commercial van.

it seems a lot of hassle if you're only sleeping in it occasionally. Can't you just take a couple of sleeping tablets and recline the front seat like the rest of us do

Another option?
Roof tent and roof rack on pulley system to take on and off as you need... The thought of sleeping in a 90... does not fill me with any joy (6ft 2) then sleeping in a car seat in the 'normal' seat position is awful. Only done this a couple of times and neither enjoyable. I appreciate the 90 shape is maybe perceived nicer? but the 110 would get my vote if you want a descent sleep and then more room for other stuff you may need? |
