I wonder if some poor sod bought it thinking it was legit and has “owned” it all this time? What will happen to it? Presumably the insurers paid out years ago, so does go to the insurance company or the person who lost it? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Presumably it had a 'new' ID......

Cars are a bit of an odd one and yet another time when big business Censored over the little guy......
A vehicle alwyas belongs to the original owner and if paid out then ownership passes to the Insurance company and they retain full rights ongoing........
I know someone that was in this exact scenario having unknowingly bout a 'ringer' - they eventually managed to sort a deal with the insurance but effectively paid for the vehicle twice and then had to take out civil proceedings against the original seller
