I think you'll be lucky to find load ratings for any bolt on recovery points, to be honest. Failures seem to be few and far between though, and many of them due to corrosion of the mounting rather than failure of the point itself.
It's worth noting that the Series style D rings won't fit if you have A/C. The Nakatanenga ones are interesting but it always strikes me that their holes are quite small and don't seem to allow for any pull beyond the straight ahead without undue strain it. I've seen a few people that have modified the LR guard to fit JATE rings by cutting the top corners of the plate away. It doesn't solve the issue of them being in a rubbish place though, tucked away down under the bumper. Rated recovery points seems to be an Australian thing. Over here we just seem to trust that whoever welded them up knew what they were doing, but that’s the way it is. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I think that the only genuinely-rated attachments you will find are those intended to be used for towing, for example the two DB jaws on this front bumper:

Remember that recovery points are not lifting points, therefore there is no particular need for them to be rated, and also your average user will have not the slightest idea what load they actually applying to them. There are actually six front attachment points on the vehicle in the photo above. |

I had the same problem after fitting a steering guard. Ideally I would have opted for jate rings but in the end decided to fit Nakatanenga recovery eyes to the front bumper mounts.
I've only used them once for a straight tow without any problems but like LRA says I would only like to use them for a straight recovery and definitely not snatch. Good to hear from a user of the Nakatanenga eyes! Discomog, do those just use the existing bumper bolts?
And thanks to others for the explanation on the ratings - as guessed my experience of tackle comes from the lifting world. Perhaps I'm overthinking this, but should the worst happen I'm not convinced 'good faith' would cut it? Everything else in the chain has a safe working load stamped on it, with guidance on safe working practice in the public domain. Thanks |

Hi Blue, they use the pair of original bumper fixings plus an addition pair at the front which necessitates drilling the bumper Defender 90XS SW

I went for the "Naka style", too, but made by gmb-mount (note the different or rather missing weld seam and different bolts). So far same experience as discomog.
I ordered directly off gmb. When I asked gmb about a Working Load Limit, they said there were no standardised measurements and they couldn't give a figure. Somehow I came to the conclusion they should at least stand 2t WLL.
