Sympathies, I feel your pain, it is a real struggle.
Does your partner have smaller hands? As thought, when i did mine i brought a extra washer, a t-piece and extra house and a blanking grommet then refitted the washer jet either side of the original. Works well enough for me without spending a lot more money. Good luck Click image to enlarge |

When I got my defender both washers were totally blocked. I cleared them both with an airline. !00psi of air pressure is almost sure to clear them. Do you have a friend with a compressor? If not try your local car repair garage.

If you are replacing, and can afford it, upgrade to a decent one, don’t just put another bit of plastic there.

When I did mine I changed it up and have three jets. No issues with mud, rain, sleet, snow or road grime at all.

So i discovered my error. I bought this defender the beginning of this year and the front washer never worked, and assumed that it had previously. The jet was broken and so i replaced it, thinking that would be the magic fix, but unfortunately not. I then decided to follow the piping back looking for blockages until I realised that the previous owner had squeezed the washer pipe with the panel holding the speaker. once i rearranged the pipe it was all A-OK. A very frustrating fix but a fix all the same.

When I changed mine I used a box spanner from a cheap set - something like this: https://www.toolstation.com/box-spanner-set/p59905 I replaced the useless OE jet with one of these http://www.csiparts.co.uk/en-gb/collection...jet/165077 and got the matching pump too. Not cheap, but far better than the original setup. Click image to enlarge |

I'm pleased with the CSI jet. It's been on over a year now. Expensive, but it works very well and looks good. I bought their pump too, figuring that the potentially 18 year old one was probably past its best.

I’ve got the CSI washer jet and would definitely recommend it, is a great improvement over standard and uses the standard pump unlike some of the other options.
For the money it’s well worth it 👍 |

I will throw my vote in for the Optimill washer jet... So Flippin’ good. I have had the standard single washer, dual standard washers and the Peugeot 405 (?) wiper blade washer jets and none compete with the optimill. The Peugeot ones got close though.
