And they are trying to call themselves a premium vehicle with this nonsense honestly they will never recover their reputation with this. |

Click image to enlarge I don’t even know what the dealership engineers have found yet but they clocked another 15 miles road test yesterday and have been working in the engine bay but if what LR solutions is saying is correct then it must something like circled in red rubbing on the prop shaft |

This thread is sadly so normal for JLR main dealers; I'm an old git in my 60's & having been a bit of a petrol head for most of my adult life I've had lots of dealings with dealers including VW, Ford, Fiat, Renault, Volvo, Nissan (all my wife's cars) & Land Rover & without exception JLR dealers have been woeful, whilst most of the others have been, tp varying degrees, spot on.
How JLR dealers get away with it is beyond me, everything ALWAYS turns into a saga & Digger2000 experiences have just been normal crap service; I've had several new Defender's & the new 90 is, slowly, growing on me BUT the thought of going through all the main dealer pain again rather puts me off & I'm sure not alone with these feelings. I wish you luck but know from bitter experience the road ahead is bumpy...even in 4WD! Since 1973...S1, Air Portable's, Defender's, but only my Wolf TUL HS GS remains |

I agree Fat Cog, I spoke to a solicitor to get some advice in case I needed to reject the vehicle he drives Range Rovers bought from the same dealership but he told me he never uses their service department because they are terrible and he’s had so many customers come to him complaining, he uses a Land Rover approved garage that don’t do any sales just servicing. I will be going off his recommendation next time I have a problem.
I just hope they have sorted all the problems 🤞🏻 |

I feel your pain!
I've never used main dealers for service work & have always used the same independent but clearly have had to attend main dealers for warranty work (Guy Salmon Straford Upon Avon...now defunct) & simply cannot recall a visit that was anywhere near straightforward. The problem with the new Defender is that its probably too early in the model life to find an Independent garage capable, or indeed willing, to carry out service work so a new purchase means both service AND warranty work going through JLR dealers...oh joy! Reading your thread raises MY blood pressure & its not even my vehicle...what should be an exciting 'boys own' experience is being tainted but hopefully all will be mended soon. I was interested to see the picture of the RR & 90 on your drive & funnily enough, I took a photo earlier today of my 90's on my drive...out of warranty & out of stress!!!! Note the high-tech transistor radio velcro'd to my Wolf windscreen...not a touch screen in sight! My one bit of advice on collection would be ask to speak to the most senior bod who actually worked on your car and have them take you through the job card. If you only speak to the front of house staff, then the fault has usually been relayed through a number of people and the details suffer in every instance.
Fat Cog ~ I'd take the one on the right every time. |

Thanks Supacat...Ex Cyprus & smiles per miles in the Wolf probably make it the best value for money vehicle I've ever owned! Since 1973...S1, Air Portable's, Defender's, but only my Wolf TUL HS GS remains |

Just had LR solutions on the phone they said it’s still very much ongoing repairs and that the dealership is having to get LR technical involved for various software issues. They are going to give me a further update on Friday but I’m not expecting my car back this week.
