It's probably the most reliable component in a fairly unreliable immobiliser system.

I was asking because I have intermittent starting problem. when i switch off the ignition and want to start, the engine cranks a little and then stops. if I restart immediately afterwards, it does not even start the engine, but if I switch off the ignition wait a bit ts reviving the engine a bit. I did this several times and after a while I quit. the next day the vehicle restarts normally.it works for a few days and the problem comes back.

If I understand correctly from your description, I had a similar problem.
When I turned the key the car started, but stopped after a few seconds. I must have tried starting the car for 30 mins, and always the same result. In the end my wife gave it a try, and she noticed that if she let go of the key very slowly and gently the engine kept running. The problem was in the ignition barrel, the contacts needed a cleaning, still use the same part two years later, ie. if you're lucky the problem might not have anything to do with the immobilizer |

This would not be typical of a faulty coil. |

The transponder coil creates a magnetic field that that excites a coil with in Rf handset this causes the Rf handset to transit a remobilisation code to the 10AS
Coil is only energised when ignition switch is turned to the ignition position and the engine is immobilised Last edited by dorsetsmith on 3rd Feb 2021 10:26am. Edited 1 time in total |

OK, it could be a faulty link due to the instrument pack soldering failing. The alarm unit is allowing the starter to crank, but the ECU is not receiving the immobiliser signal.

I had seen the trick of making a bridge between 3 and 4, I have not yet tried.
is this normal if I switch off the ignition, leave the key on it and go out and close the door. and like I go back 10 minutes to see 1 hour later. I put the ignition on and the engine cuts I must unlocked with the plip to restart? |
