I Bought Thule carriers thinking they'd work with the rack,
due to the Hannibal rack I have having slats that are full length (front to back) the way a Thule carrier works is offset front to rear... so the front bolts but the rear is in the gap between the long slats... Is there an adapter or a fix for this? Any ideas? |

I doubt that there's an off the shelf solution. Should be easy enough to solve with a length of flat ali bar though - fix down to the two rack slats and then fix the bike carrier down to it. Only needs to be 3-4mm thick. Darren

Ummmm.... I had the two bike carriers mounted on the universal Thule rails that bolt to the universal car mounts. They have nuts that slide in to rails that connect up the car roof mounts. I drilled the rack out, loosely fitted the nuts, slid the Thule rails in at 90 deg the rack rails, mounted the bike carriers to the Thule rails, squared it all up and tightened it all up.
I bolted two of these down at 90 deg to the rack, then put the carriers on them https://www.thule.com/en-gb/gb/roof-rack/r...rack-_-79x It didn't take long, unfortunately I didn't get any other pictures. I see, thanks...
I was thinking about getting 1 meter of this; /p244?showvat=true&gclid=CjwKCAjworfdBRA7EiwAKX9HePzQc16A0dZktNDR05YlOStVD_cMk71_jaw_W3gTYapRb9Dp9IBB0BoC9WwQAvD_BwE" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow">https://www.metals4u.co.uk/aluminium/c1/fl...WwQAvD_BwE then just using this to fit the gaps... also need to get some tie down rings, as added security, can't find Hannibal ones in the uk anymore... maybe front runner fit ?? |

I stumbled onto this thread since I'm in the same pickle. I've decided to join the forum (first post).
Very curious if you could tell me how you got that rack installed. I've got a Thule Prodride 598 rack which I'm trying to install into a hannibal roof rack on my 110. Was it able to fit between the lengthwise runners to grab onto the square bars, or did you figure out a workaround. (Couldn't tell from the pics). Thanks! |

I modified it since the initial mounting -
5mm stainless steel bar between the runners, im not in the Uk so can't really describe it but the foot of the Thule drills through the plate and is securely held down, my initial way was only bolts down one side and it would flex, wasn't too bad as I always ratchet strap down but not ideal... hence version 2.0 |
