[All sold] Grey Fergie And old motors. Morgan, Jensen, Jago,
Hello all,
For sale, Grey Ferguson tractor TE20. SOLD UNSEEN.
This is being sold from the estate of my late brother. Who Died just before Christmas.
It is located in Lincolnshire 90 miles away from me.
I can’t supply a recent photo, but could probably dig out a couple taken 15 odd years ago.
I doubt it has been started in the last 10 years but has been dry stored.
It ran pretty well, I did some ploughing with it to see how straight I could do a few lines.

I have to put a price on this £2,000 or make a reasonable offer.

I will not be going to see it very often, so any sale would need to meet very srict conditions. I am not going to drive the 180 mile round trip for someone to look at it. You need to be serious hence the low price. Please pm any reasonable offer that fits with my limited access. Include how flexible you are.
Because this is part of an estate sale - identity/receipts/payments need to meet hmrc guidance.
In a few weeks time I can visit the tractor. Please let me know what I need to look at and photograph to help.

Additionally I also need to dispose of the following:
1947 Morgan Sports - 3 wheeler. SOLD UNSEEN
Jago Jeep sold
1973 Harley, might be xlh sold
1932 Armstrong Siddeley 12hp Coupe sold
1934 Armstrong Siddeley 14hp Saloon sold
Austin Maestro sold
2002 Ford Ka, mot expired last month sold
Ursus 4512 tractor sold
Plus a fair few pto tractor attachments; flail, chipper, topper, plough, rotavator sold
1972 Jensen Interceptor 7.2l SOLD, BUT ONLY FOR PARTS
Dutton B type sold
If I need to put a price on the other items then I shall say £20,000 for the whole lot.
If interested in anything let me know and I can take some photos and send descriptions as required.
Assume everthing has not been used in years, except the modernish tractor and the Ka.
All these will need the same limited access sale and strict receipts, bank transfers to meet hmrc guidance.

Any other old crap, sorry that should have said essential tool or part, you may want let me know he probably had it. Sold

Cheers,
Bob

Hi, sorry to hear about your brother and I appreciate how difficult this might be for you to be involved with the disposal of some of his possessions.
The grey fergie interests me, could you please tell me what fuel it runs on?

Hmmm.
I don’t know really. I think he mentioned it having a small tank for lamp oil. Would that mean it was a diesel?
I am afraid I can’t be more specific at the moment. I can have a look and take some pictures some time.

Cheers, but are you saying paraffin instead of lamp oil, or instead of diesel?
He did invest in a diesel tank and pump for red diesel for the tractors, but can’t remember if this was before or after buying the 2nd tractor.
Reminds me I need to see how much red diesel is left?

Hi Bob,
I've just seen your post and wonder if I could offer my assistance.
For my day job, I work for a well known international motoring auction house valuing and consigning vehicles to auction. I would be more than happy to have a chat and see if I could help in any way.

I meant paraffin instead of diesel, I would have guessed that the tank was for the later tractor. It's only an opinion though mate. Good luck with the sale Thumbs Up 04' 90 Td5 CSW..

It will be a diesel if it has the small auxiliary tank.

Thanks to everyone for all the kind thoughts. And thanks for the interest.
Just a quick re-iteration of the reason for the advert.
If you are interested in any particular vehicle let me know what you would like to know and see more photos of.
They will all need to be cleared in the next 6 months, so they are at clearance prices.
Many thanks.
Bob

Split fuel tank with a small auxiliary tank and large main tank on a Fergie usually indicates a TVO or Lamp oil engine.
If it has a single main tank and a very small separate cylindrical fuel tank connected to a Ki Gas pump, then it should be a diesel.

The small tank on a split tank Fergie should contain petrol, with the larger tank holding TVO or Lamp Oil. Engine started from cold on petrol, then switched over to TVO or Lamp Oil when warmed up. Not sure if TVO and Lamp Oil versions had different compression ratios and/or manifolds. I think most UK originals were meant to run on TVO. I used to mix my own TVO when I had my grey Fergie. 50/50 petrol/kerosene in a jerry can, with around 1/8 pint of engine oil for good measure.

Irrespective of tank configuration though it may have been converted to a diesel at some point!!

I'd be interested to know what tractor PTO attachments you have, I might be interested in taking them all.
