Ford Transit Detents
Jumped into my 110 went to start it, bloody in gear without depressing clutch, shouldn’t have been a problem but Aye it was now stuck in 1st gear couldn’t get it out.
Anyway found the answer here on Defender2, Remove Detent, insert small screw driver flick it forward, Done this Bingo Sorted.
The Detent in question was the newer flush type so, thought no problem there are an couple of Independent LR specialist in the area I’ll get a new one, and indeed worst case scenario there is the Main Dealer, anyway failed miserably could supply could only supply a full kit at £85 plus VAT, but was on back order with no date of supply.
So decided to try The Ford dealer to see if they could supply from the Transit with the MT82 Gearbox, after a bit of searching through their parts software identifying the part, they had one Detent in stock at £12.41 including VAT
This Detent looked like the older Mushroom Head type.
This got me going and been going for a couple of days now.
My Question is, any issues with these, or should I look at changing it when I get the kit

No, it does fit, but has the dome head as opposed to flush

If I'd known that I would have bought those when I rebuilt my MT82. So much better to have a re useable option. Nige
