What’s this please ?
Hi all, looking into a noise today and seems to be coming from No7 pulley in the picture , is it the water pump ? It’s located above the crankshaft pulley and have a smooth pulley rather than ribbed ,
Thanks in advance

Forgot to say it’s a 2001 td5 90 no air on Fitted

Richard

Idler pulley IIRC, to give more wrap to the alternator pulley.

Viscous fan , that makes sense 👍
I see you can buy a bearing separately,
Anyone done / changed one ?
It just sounds dry and rumbley

Thanks for your time and input

As already said above, no.7 is only a pulley for the fan. I did mine a few years ago. Easy enough to do, just takes a little while depending how much you strip off to do it. I did it with the rad/intercooler removed and the front panel off but you could do it without.

Good guide here:
