Hi all.
Any ideas how to solve this? I haven't overfilled it and I'm keen to get it fixed as it's a big risk to other road users and my fuel account. Is it just a case of new cap or does it just need a rebuild kit. Mine was not leaking that badly. Replaced cap and it has been fine.
Old cap was disassembled. It has a rubber coated disc spring to provide the sealing. If this has worn coating or spring temper was poor it will leak. I can’t see a meaningful repair. Bending disc spring will work for a while but would make the temper worse. 1995 Defender 110 CSW 1971 SIIA Lightweight |

My old fuel caps leaked and i got one from ebay and that did the job, no leaks, then optimall fuel cap came out for the Tdi and i got one, that leaked on the second fill up, so i went back to the one i bought and it has not leaked once in all the time i have had it, i don't fill it up to the brim, i always leave a space
