United Kingdom 2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Santorini Black
Central Locking Issues
Hi all
When i put the key into the drivers door to lock the car, all doors lock
If i were to lock the car with the keyfob, all doors but the drivers door locks.

Is there anything you can think off which might have caused this?
Any place to look?

2014 puma 110

Its strange to see manually locking the car via the drivers door lock, it locks all the doors

Thanks
Nick

Yep.

So manually, all doors lock, front back and rear.
By the remote, all doors APART from the drivers door lock.

Its a strange one!

check the pink and orange wires which run in the convoluted rubber grommet/tube between the a-pillar and driver's door. 99% sure you will find one or both broken.

Would it be the cables if I can lock all doors when I manually lock the forevers door, since it locks all the other doors?

Yes. A separate (and thinner) cable sends the lock signal to the 10AS unit when you manually lock the door. 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

^^ This.

The driver's door when locked with the key is being locked by the key, not the central locking.

I would look to the condition of the linkage between motor and lock in the drivers door. It's quite common for these things to get gummed up, which in turn creates resistance that the motor can't overcome to complete the travel necessary to work the lock. The fact that the other doors lock on the fob means that the drivers door motor is working to some extent as it operates a microswitch that sends the signal to lock the other doors, as it does when you lock with a key. Darren

One of the rear passenger doors on our 2008 Puma would not lock with the fob. It was a broken wire in the sleeve. I just joined it up with a small connector and it worked with the rest of the doors on the fob. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

When I have door locking issues I have learnt it is most probably battery... check your charge. Defender 90 TD5 County -
You need only two tools in life: WD-40 and duct tape.
If it doesnt move and it should: WD-40.
If it moves and shouldnt: duct tape it.
