Have you checked fuse 6 as per https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic35353.html ? Did they remove the BBUS? |

They’re not from your sidelight and indicator are they? Have you checked behind the passenger side headlamp for more unconnected plugs? This is typically where the BBUS is located.
Shorting the indicator will blow the fuse powering the alarm which is why you’re not getting a flash on locking. |

Could I suggest that the priority should probably be moving the vehicle away from wherever it was, and or improving your security...
...they've clearly started one night and intend coming back to finish another. Just suggesting that might be a good plan over and above figuring out how to return it to how they've left it. (Not that fixing it isn't also a priority.... You get what I mean ) |

And the hole beneath your headlight is perfect for hiding an alarm switch for when they remove the headlight surround.

Turns out it there was a blown hazard fuse which is why the indicators were not flashing with the fob.
Can some one confirm that if the missarm function works which it does door open and try and arm the horn sounds twice the alarm system is still intact and functioning? There were no blown fuses under the seat... |

Exactly my thoughts. Went out and turned the truck around so it's now right under my bedroom window. Blocked in by another vehicle with a camera pointing at and a hastily purchased steering lock fitted. Not going to bother with the shotgun but will be spending on beefing up my security players.... |

No, those are Econoseal connectors and will not fit the BBUS. There are several connectors in that area which will be present but unused depending on the configuration of the vehicle, including the alarm sounder (used only if the BBUS is not fitted), the rear washer pump, and headlamp levelling motor. If everything that is there has a plug in it and some are left over, it is probably not an issue. The BBUS is a cube-shaped boxy thing and its connector has four black wires, all the same colour to make identification of each specific function difficult. |
