Not much 'apnin' today on Defender2.net. Sat at work not much workload like a coiled spring awaiting to react to any interesting posts! Nothing has 'appened since last night with the exception of someone's windows not fitting!

Hello matey,
Sorry for the delay, Willy diverted my attention on another thread! Need to change my employ as I am just wishing my life away monday to friday at the moment. Anyone got any ideas for an aircraft electrician/avionics technician with 30 years Service experience? "Big Issue anyone?" Just looked enviously at AndrewS suspended from his watertank picture - I could do that but i'd need a f4t b45t4rd sling and a high breaking strain rope! Cherry picker would be better! Somebody gizza job! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Well just been to the Dealer with a few queries, water in foot wells and breather pipe on front axle popping of, They have said they will have a look at the water in the foot wells on Monday, K9 i told them about the window seal and he said no way it can be that so i explained what a few of you Guys have experienced and he said there is a foam gasket under the window where it could be getting in...see what they come up with anyway...Well heres a pic of the breather pipe popping off...they said Axle could be pressuring up for some reason or the breather pipe could be blocked....Anyway its getting sorted Monday....Has anybody else had this problem with the breather pipe

Karl,we had our TD5 off the road with water leaks for more than 5 weeks, even ran it with dash missing after the dealer welded the bulk head, made a real mess of the paintwork after and 3 sets of door seals,it was the screen seal, once sealed it was fine even dry 2.4 90 XS

Karlos,
I discussed the common fault of the rear stoplight rubber chafing through the rear heater element rendering the top two or three bars inoperative with the dealers! They denied any knowledge. Sometimes they just need a little 'nudge' in the right direction to get something that has been plaguing you finally sorted. Autoglass are aware of a Defender issue with windscreen seals, then again they're specialists swapping them out daily. Wonder how many windscreens are exchanged by dealers? Good luck matey hope you get it sorted once and for all. Needs to be if your water is discoloured by what looks like rust. With the breather pipe could you not pop it off and run an air line down it? Or get your chops on the end of it and give it a blow? Just an idea. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Cheers Grokle, i to have had 3 or 4 sets of door seals and water tests and i know now its not them.. as K9 says its time to give them a little nudge in the right direction... It can't be anything else...When i take it in on Monday i'll ask to see the head mechanic and insist that they take the screen out and look at it.. Thanks Guys NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY.
