Get one of these quick release adapters, much better than trying to pry off tight nipples. Obviously only fit to a grease gun that works

Yes, that’s what I have too a lock n’ lube from the States.
Only difference is mine is a narrow tip which is a bit easier for access, makes the job so much more easier. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Steve - any chance of a link to the locknlube narrow version and the 90-degree adaptor you chose?
Been looking and I can find the normal one but the only narrow one that pops up on Google is like a needle affair that doesn't look right. I've struggled with grease guns for years (with hindsight using cheap ones and then wondering why its difficult to get a good seal and to detach easily) and this thread has just pushed me to splash some cash. I have a po box in the US so can order direct from locknlube. Thank you. |

Gasket -
See here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y2GBF...&psc=1 You will have to wait a week or so maybe two, but no worries getting it from over there at all. The link in the above post is much the same thing though, mine was the Lock n’ Lube though and works excellently. I got the 90 degree adaptor as well which is useful and a ‘gundom’. Evening Steve,
Could I ask you to measure the outside diameter of the grease coupler ? Does it easily fit on the Puma U/J grease nipple fittings with the Prop in situ? Thanks in advance Mark |

Mark - The coupler dia is 16mm, which is the product in the link I mentioned just above (which is what I have) and also fits the standard Allemite flexi hose.
It does indeed fit Puma UJ’s no problem, you typically have to find the UJ’s widest open point as per every grease gun coupler to fit square to the nipple. You can either move the Defender to the right spot to achieve that, or jack one wheel up and on an axle stand instead so you can manipulate the shaft to suit which is what I do. Chock the wheels first, and don’t get under the side that is jacked up and on axle stand. It’s much easier to fit the coupler to the nipple with this coupler, and easier to remove It’s less prone to popping off and better at preventing grease squeezing out of the side. Hope that helps. Thanks for checking, Santas list just got bigger. You can’t have to many tools
I am getting tired of removing the props to grease them. |

Gwyn Lewis are now offering another Alemite grease gun but with a pistol grip to allow 1-handed operation, has anyone tried one of these yet?

They’ll work fine, only difference is the standard version (non pistol grip).
Is slightly higher pressure, when I was looking at the specs if I remember rightly. I used to have a pistol grip version, but prefer the standard. Both work well though. 👍🏻 Funny this post comes up as I’ve just done mine today. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
