A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the indicators had stopped flashing when unlocking (still do on locking). Some time later I also noticed that the red immobiliser light on the dash was sometimes staying on from start up. I discovered that if I turned the ignition off and on again then it would go out, though. It took me a while to realise that these two events were connected when one day the indicators did flash on unlock.
So, if I unlock and the indicators don't flash, then the immobiliser light stays on when starting. If I turn off and on again, it clears and stays off. This happens probably 9 our 10 times when unlocking. It starts and runs as normal. I haven't yet changed the fob battery (although I have tried the spare fob with the same result) but I though the sign of a low battery was no indicators when unlocking or unlocking. Any ideas, folks? Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? Best to get some quality varta ones from a reputable supplier as there are a lot of fakes out their and the cheaper batteries can cause issues.
Plus best to follow the fob battery change procedure and don’t touch the batteries with fingers as it shortens their life. Procedure here 4th post down https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic37269...ob+battery |

That's the truck's way of telling you that you need to change out your FOB's battery.
Happened to me twice already. |

You were both right chaps, so thank you. I fitted a new battery and normal service has been resumed.
I'd half convinced myself that it couldn't be the battery, partly because I'd mis-remembered what the indicators do (or don't do) when it's low. A reminder to always check the simple stuff first Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? Hi I am having the same issue with the immobiliser light staying on from startup. Could someone point me in the right direction for the fob battery replacement procedure? Many thanks
