By cheap how cheap do you mean?
Most of the recommendations are to source them from Ricky Evans Motorsport: https://www.heatedwindscreen.com/acatalog/...ml#SID=463 and it's not particularly expensive. Junk the old seal - ironically one of the best / simplest to fit is the Britpart one and is only a few quid anyway and makes life so much easier. I have had heated screens on my 90 for nearly 20yrs and regardless of manufacture they all suffer the same problem and that is that over time the heating elements start to break meaning you get stripes down the screen when clearing, it still works ok but it can take just a tad longer to clear the whole screen.
That said, my windscreen cover has always replaced them so it isn't the biggest problem in the world. And yes I always supply a new seal when the screen is replaced, at £10.50 inc delivery the BP is well priced and I have never had one not fit, split or leak. ONE LIFE, GET IT! |
