J77 - I have been told by my dealer that the info LR online chat support is providing is from the original marketing launch and is out of date, thus no new 90's in showrooms until 2021. I dunno

Thanks Tim. So 4583mm excluding the spare wheel. Bumper to Bumper (or rear door) as it were. Which is 180.4” I’ve checked up on the Discovery 1 also. Bumper to bumper excluding the spare (which sits mostly over the bumper) is 176” and a classic Range Rover is 174”. So I was wrong. The new 90 is 4.4” longer than a Disco1! A traditional 90 bumper to bumper (well rear cross member) is only 142” |

^ it’s 4583mm including the tyre, I think it’s just over 4300mm excluding the tyre.

Just one remark, everybody is talking environment and JLR is blowing the Defender 90 from a small multi-purpose car to a fat lady? I am driving to the continent frequently and I read the minimum sizes with increased shocks. Over 2.10 wide means right lane in construction areas on most motorways and German autobahn - so stuck behind the big guys. Also almost 600 mm added in length, JLR are you serious? Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

Most cars are much wider these days, remember the old Defender’s width was more or less set with the Series II back in the late 50s and never updated thereafter.
The 90 looks good but, in exactly the same way as the previous model, the rear is a terrible compromise between seating and load-carrying. Impressive really that they’ve managed to carry this feature through despite the increase in vehicle size! The commercial variant will be worth having as it won’t have the silly seats in the way. |

I’ve thought about the commercial but adding the VAT makes it less attractive.

Yes but £35.5k plus VAT start price makes it more expensive than the passenger version at £40k inc VAT

Cozz - We got all this 2021 stuff from our local dealers, will be interesting to know if any dealers do actually have 90's in their showrooms before 2021.
