I doubt it’s that one.

A car check on the registration shows it registered early March ‘21. To do 5000mls it would have to have some serious work in the time till now.

Same vehicle, Mileage is a guesstimate of what it would have been in June after it's stint as a demo but a suppose it all a bit academic really since it went up in smoke. Just pointing out that it wasn't a P400e. It's still on LR site, I just googled the reg no. Thumbs Up

Can you imagine if this was someone’s car inside a house garage at night while they trickle charge the battery? Could of been a different story here. Why couldn’t the fire be controlled and stopped with on site fire extinguishers? Something isn’t right here ...a full report needed

Unless you catch it very quickly I’d love to see anyone (especially untrained) put out a vehicle fire using a fire extinguisher. By the time you’ve realised what’s happening it’s probably too late. Bet you wouldn’t even get the bonnet or doors open quickly enough if it was locked for example.

And yes, most workplaces would tell staff not to even tackle it themselves... at the end of the day it’s just property, it’s insured and can be replaced. Cars go up really quickly with all the flammable materials within.

And your comment about car fire in garage is true; must happen reasonably frequently around the world... But again, that’s what smoke alarms and the fire brigade are for. Cheers, David

The fire chiefs have launched a full investigation into the fire so we’ll find out soon enough.

Are incident reports publically available?

It would seem that Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service apply a test:

"Copies of these reports can be requested, however every request we receive must be assessed to make sure that you are entitled to receive a report, and ensure our actions conform to the requirements of the Data Protection Act."

And then they can charge you £60 plus VAT.

Only info a cursory search has pulled up:

I can alway ask if it was related to the seat fire retardant that JLR admitted was accidentally used on some of the seats including this car and mine.
