Hi, I dont think it was designed to be nose down just a ride height which could be used with various different height tow vehicles some probably nose up if not Land Rover based. I have a Penman but hate the nose down attitude even with the Nato hook mounted on the crossmember. I want my 110 to handle nicely solo so dont want a suspension lift and balloon tyres to level out the trailer. Unfortunatley its not easy on the Penman to either change the ride height or coupling position

So I've carried on working through the final items, pace of progress has dropped away as we've started to use the trailer and returned to the adventures that Covid lockdowns had stopped. Granted I wouldn't have got the trailer fabricated if we hadn't had the enforced stay at home periods.

Side steps made up by a local fabricator to provide a step up for accessing the roof and also to cover the wider stance.

And then off on some adventures

Following the first few overnighters we've fitted out some storage boxes, drawers and shelves at the rear to give us easy access to all the kitchen kit and I've fitted a 60L water tank above the axle. Keith

Good luck and have fun, I totally underestimated how much time it would absorb.

More so the thinking, planning, measuring followed by the repeated realisation that It'd missed a critical washer or clip in my last order. Fortunately most of this happened during the 2021 lockdown so there wasn't much else that I could be doing.

Still tweaking it and refining lighting and storage, we come up with a new idea or improvement pretty every time we go away.

I've just added an external water connection https://bullfinch-gas.co.uk/outdoor-utilit...132-detail recently and will get this connected to the water pump and tank over the coming weekends. Keith

Congrats on your trailer. Yes it takes a lot of time, even more if your are picky on details. But looking at the result you are Thumbs Up

60L Water tank and Shurflow pump all fitted and connected to a Bullfinch external shower port so we now have pressurised water when desired (Forgot to take photos of the inside)

Need to fully connect up the 13 pin socket on the 110 to help preserve the AGM battery in the trailer, I've had 4 days successfully running on the leisure battery but this summers trips will push a bit beyond that between hook up points so being able to run the fridge circuit from the Landrover when towing would probably help enough. I don't have the time for sorting solar before the trip and don't know how often we would use it for the expense of a decent sized set up.

Revisit to a mid Scotland site for the bank holiday weekend reminded me its been a while since I updated this thread. Little people wanted to hammock for the weekend and the trailer/110 combination made up for the lack of trees.

For once it was a bank holiday weekend with glorious sunshine

Also taken a first attempt at making a kitchen storage area behind the rear doors, cheating on the decorating.

Combination of drawer with worktop lid, storage boxes, shelves and a really useful combo unit.

Finally got round to weighing the trailer now that it's all built and loaded with the usual kit.

The empty weight has gone from 620kg to 890kg: lost the weight of the tub but added a bit of beef in terms of new box, storage boxes, roof tent, awning, fridge, tools and gas bottles. Nose weight sitting around 60kg with the weight almost 50:50 between the two sides.

Once the kitchen contents had been added with the BBQ it's ended up closer to 930kg. The drive over scales are +-3% so it's an approximate measurement until I can get along to a weighbridge.

Summer trip to the Hebrides didn't have a huge amount of "summer" for the first week so opted not to put the roof tent up in the 35mph winds. The trailer did make a nice additional length of windbreak for the tents.

What sort of kit did you use to weigh it, Keith? Darren

Ah, interesting. I've never seen one of those before. I'm guessing you put it under each wheel in turn, including the jockey wheel, and then add up the figures? Darren

In simple terms yes, you drive over it slowly then move it to the next wheel based on what the display tells you.

There are different modes that account for single axle, twin axle trailers as well as vehicles. It then tells you total weight as well as individual wheel weights and left-right balance.

I used a spreadsheet and just weighed each wheel 3 times then averaged the figure so I was only interested in the single readings. Keith
