Currently having my 90 rebuilt by Chris at CSK Automotive. Based in Buntingford, Herts. Been taking the 90 and 110 to him for a couple of years now, always had great service. Charlie

Seems to me there are very many great specialists out there. Hayward Revival, Cult 4x4 and Hangar 53 to name a few local.
Whilst I appreciate your statement about not minding traveling for the right garage. For me I would want to get it done as locally as possible. Firstly, so I could keep calling in to check on progress, but also to build up an on-going relationship. There will always be something to do. Good luck and look forward to watching progress. PS you must be chuffed your daughter has the LR bug?! OK... so I will admit to a vested interest here, but speak to Mike at Blackbird Industries.
Mike is our daughter’s partner (hence the vested interest...) but she’s JLR and if that’s not enough, he’s ex-Bowler and has now set up on his own with a mate who’s equally skilled. Their core business is building 4x4 race cars but I am aware that they have also done some pretty extensive rebuilds for other folks - much as I suggest they should increase their rates, they are still somewhat in ‘startup’ mode and, as a result, are offering some cracking capability at very keen rates... Based near Stafford but home is closer to Gaydon if you wanted an initial discussion with Mike... |

Appreciate all the input, thanks.
It appears a Richards chassis is £2,100 and Marsland £2,880. Is there any good reason to spend a third more Rob 1993 200tdi 90 hard-top 1998 300tdi 90 soft-top 2016 2.2 XS 90 hard-top (sold) |

Yes, Marsland are genuine GKN so the fit is spot on, where as a Richards don’t fit as nice. XD also seem to have a good reputation. Got one coming for my 90 so will see how it fits. Also XD can offer GKN chassis rails with the correct year crossmember so is correct to the original.
