I have recently renewed my insurance.

Im 25, missus 26, both fully protected 5yrs NCD with business use was just over £400.

Its on a multicar policy. The missis 2005 206 1.4 petrol came in at about £600, but with 1 year NCD (although neither of us have had any crashes touch wood).

I didnt think it was that bad considering our ages etc.Its been around the £400 mark since i had my 90 when i was 23, and was £700 ish/year when i was 21/22 for my TD5 Disco ES. Again, didnt think it was too bad considering what i was driving.

I have tended to swap insurers every year though. Current:D4 HSE
Gone: BMW Z4MC
Gone: Defender TD5 90 CSW
Previous: Discovery TD5 ES (Gone)

I too have been with NFU for years. Never had a claim, never had a point on my licence. Last year I paid £370, this year they wanted £820. More than double. I was gob smacked!

After several calls and checking out other insurers I got NFU down to £560. I could have gone cheaper, AXA at £390 for example, but NFU cover was still more comprehensive and I cant fault thier service over the years.

Its a huge hike and I dont know what will ahppen next year but for now at least I am staying with NFU.
