Tweeters
The small blanking off plates in the top of the dash where the tweeters go. Do they just prise out? and should I find some speaker wires down the hole? And can anyone recommend some good tweeters that fit into the hole and look as if they grew there?

I'm thinking about a Sony DSX300 radio/i-pod player/bluetooth. Anybody got one?

Cheers.

United Kingdom 2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
Small Clanger,

I recently did a lot of research into I Pod/USB/Hands-Free/Bluetooth and opted for the Parrot Asteroid. It seemed to do everything I wanted (and more) was only half the depth of a standard unit that allowed me to fit an Alpine Amp directly behind it....As it was Subwoofer ready I also a week later bought a Vibe 8" Subwoofer and amp and the sound is absolutely awesome. Just finished the install about 15 minutes ago! Not knocking them but most car head-unit's appearance haven't really changed over the past few decades and even the recent models to me look 'dated' I wanted something that wasn't festooned in buttons (that would take me months to find out what they did) and lights. The Parrot Asteroid...has an inbuilt graphic equaliser with a good range of frequency adjustments...As XS models have tweeters fitted as standard I have retained the originals. You could ask your local Land Rover dealer about tweeters. Alternatively the company I used to purchase all my bits was Audio In Motion as they were local to me and very very helpful with advice, you could always give them a call. Maybe not the cheapest but I was able to try before buying and they did give me a few bits 'n' pieces. Willy Eckerslike has one of these which I thought was also cool.....

If you do a search under 'stereo' or 'stereo upgrade' it makes for some interesting and informative reading...

Link for Audio In Motion...
