If there's do damage, splits, rips or bulges & you're not running at max design weight at max design speed for hours on end I'd definatly keep!

The DOT number on the sidewall will allow you to determine exactly how old they are (the last four digits of the code give the week and year of manufacture).

There is a general consensus that you should consider replacing tyres when they are 6 years old, but I don't know where that actually comes from.

The below article from Continental advises replacement at 10 years old (if there are no other obvious reasons to replace before that e.g. bulging, cracking etc.)

I am running BF Goodrich All Terrains which are now 8 years old with a reasonable amount of tread remaining, but they are starting to show cracking all around the tread blocks and the shoulder of the tyre, so have just ordered replacements. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

If the tyres don't see much heat or direct sunlight I would drive them more than 10 years if they have enough tread. Defender 110 SW MY2011 2.4tdci decat, no EGR
