Hi all , I’m currently running coopers mts
I’ll never wear them out , but how long are they safe for I think they are 6 years old but only done 20k on them Should I replace or ok ? Cheers guys |

If there's do damage, splits, rips or bulges & you're not running at max design weight at max design speed for hours on end I'd definatly keep!

they look in good condition , all road use so think ill keep for a bit many thx

The DOT number on the sidewall will allow you to determine exactly how old they are (the last four digits of the code give the week and year of manufacture).
There is a general consensus that you should consider replacing tyres when they are 6 years old, but I don't know where that actually comes from. The below article from Continental advises replacement at 10 years old (if there are no other obvious reasons to replace before that e.g. bulging, cracking etc.) https://www.continental-tyres.co.uk/car/al...cing-tyres I am running BF Goodrich All Terrains which are now 8 years old with a reasonable amount of tread remaining, but they are starting to show cracking all around the tread blocks and the shoulder of the tyre, so have just ordered replacements. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green |
