just walked past the front door to find some dog on a lead doing a great big dump on the front lawn.
lets just say I wasn't best pleased and let me feelings be known. If I'd had my wits about me I'd have probably dragged the dog off the lawn. don't get me wrong I like dogs alot but I don't appreciated turds being laid on my front lawn by strangers dogs. especially as something left a turd on there a few months back. is it me? and if I were to drag the dog off the lawn would I be in the wrong? |

there was someone at the other end of the lead and that's who I 'spoke' to.
BW - I love that idea whoever they did pick the mess up. some might think 'ah well they picked the mess up what the hell?' unfortunately I've got standards and so far as I'm concerned the dog shouldn't have been on the lawn to start with let alone then commence to drop it's guts out those same standards meant as a news paper boy I didn't go walking across peoples lawns but kept to the paths it was a relatively small dog......about football size so far as I'm concerned the owner needs a rocket up their ass. I wonder what they'd think to me having a dump on their door step? |

Whilst the dry spell continues, sprinkle pepper dust round the garden. It will keep dogs and cats out (it's a bit like Mace for pets) but won't harm them.
I had an issue many years ago with a local cat that decided that my Disco2 bonnet was an ideal perch. Pepper dust kept it off, but I found out why next time I turned the HVAC blower on! |

No I dont think you over reacted, I would have been the same had it been my front lawn. Fortunately dog owners round here keep their dogs off front lawns or seem to as any decent dog owner should. I used to be one many years ago (not actually a dog) a dog owner
Now my problem is the sodding cats, crap over the lawn and climb over the Land Rover leaving tiny scratches on the bonnet |

I once had a dog owner talking to me admiring my defender, he allowed his dog to start sniffing my wheel and I said please don’t let him urinate on my wheel and with that the dog let flow and it was a big dog, to say I was unhappy was an understatement, he never apologised I stood there astounded, well he said must be going and he walked towards his car.......before he had taken his walking attire off and put the dog in the boot I had relieved myself all over his front wheel and it did feel better in more than one way. 2015 HT XS 90

A bloke I worked with years ago had a similar thing happen, but the owner didn't pick it up.
The chap scooped it up on a coal shovel, went to the owner's house and said 'this is yours' as he threw it down the hall when they answered the door. Very satisfying. The marina where we keep our boat have a simple policy. You can have a dog, and they provide dedicated bins around the site, but if you fail to pick up its poo, you're out. No excuses. |

Drifting slightly from the subject, one thing that I have noticed increasingly often now is that many dog owners seem to bag the scat then just drop the bag, or even worse, hang the bag on a tree, fence, or similar, presumably on the assumption that someone else will deal with it.
Words cannot adequately express my feelings towards either the habit or the people who would for a second consider doing this, it is vastly more offensive than simply leaving it on the ground. |

Do these people who allow their dogs to foul other people’s gardens not understand how dangerous dog and cat faeces are to children who might be going to play in that garden? I don’t own a dog and it really p sses me off to watch dog walkers on the common that my garden backs onto allowing their pets to foul on the foot path and then to walk on and not poop scoop afterwards - not sure if our local rules to clear up after your pet are in force during the pandemic though. @blackwolf. Agree with you completely. I just don't get it.
Why would someone do the right thing and bag up their dog's c**p, then dump the bag for all to see? We've had three instances of this in the past week on the track to our house which is also a footpath. With the lockdown restrictions the footpath is getting a lot more use and I have noticed many new faces walking past. Most dog owners are responsible, but it seems as though a minority have very some very strange ideas on what is acceptable. There are a number of red waste bins around the village specifically for dog waste, so disposal isn't an issue. |

We have the same thing where a very small minority of dog owners pick up their dog mess, tie the bag up and then hang it on a tree. We also have it with litter louts. They put their sandwich wrapper, empty coke can and chocolate wrapper in a carrier bag, take the trouble to tie up the bag and then dump it out of their car window as they are leaving our village, usually within 20 metres of our litter bin.
Since lock down we have seen a dramatic decrease in the amount of litter. I guess then that these people are now snacking at home and not in their cars whilst driving - Question is, are their living rooms as littered as our hedgerows? Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |

It is a great improvement that people pick up the scat in the first place (the hanging it on a tree mystifies me) but I can’t recall anyone picking it up when I was a kid. The park and pavements and footpaths were generally a minefield. There were even specific footpaths locally know as dog alley or similar.
People don’t think ahead enough. I see it on a shoot day, in the car parking area and out hops the dog and in the middle of the yard, just poor management. Usually the same folk every time unless they are given a clear instruction. |
