I think the term your looking for is "Pricks" and unfortunately give responsible owners a bad name.......

well I'm at ease now knowing that my response wasn't entirely unreasonable but inline with what many others might have done.
when getting the grass cuttings out of the mower and to be greeted with a strong smell and sticky stuff on my hand is rather less than pleasing. I think I'll be keeping my eyes peeled from here on in |

No you did not over react. Only for the law is against you, I would suggest that you personally go over and leave a "message" of your own on their lawn. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Caterham, you’d being doing your nut if you lived here. Owners regularly let their dogs out to take themselves for a walk, even relieve themselves as necessary. Some let them out all day whilst they are at work. Our land connects two dead-end tracks, plus we have one flank with a small rack and pinion tramway alongside. Our fences are fairly porous, meaning dogs walking down our drive, through and around our garden, is an almost daily occurrence. All shapes, all sizes. At least 20 different dogs over the years. Clearly that means some crap in our garden as well. One or two dogs we’ve got to know, and their owners, and they’re fine. But this winter a larger collie/husky mix started appearing, barking aggressively, chasing the cats and . I found out who they were and needless to say, your reaction was fairly muted compared to mine. Fortunately they were seasonal workers so as soon as the season was over and before lock down began, they effed off. Talking of lock down, far fewer daily visits as owners are now at home with their dogs. Sure it’ll all change come tomorrow when lockdown ends. But that’s fine, we’re fencing the garden properly come June, gates and all, so it will finally end and we’ll have peace. Monsieur Le Grenadier

And when I say porous, I mean porous. One morning we found three donkeys in our garden who’d escaped from a neighbouring field. And deer/boar is quite common as well, they use the tramway in winter when the snow is heavy. This fellow is a new visitor, since lockdown, but he’s very nice and we know the owner. We don’t know his name so we’ve called him Gavin.

Had something similar a while back, Wayne. It became confrontational with the dog owner sadly. We had a few words, I kept calm but repeated sternly that I thought he was being an irresponsible dog owner. As he walked away he shouted, threatened me "better watch your back when walking around at night". Sadly at that I snapped, jumped the fence and went after him "if you want to threaten me, let's go NOW, c'mon lets have that fight it you want it!!!" and chased him and his skanky pet away.
He called the police! The police came to my house! I was lectured by the police and told to put a better fence up if I didn;t want dogs in my garden! Still makes my angry to this day. I was put in the wrong for what I consider to be bad justice. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

It is always harder to take when you know you are in the right. Pity the police were not more sensitive to your side of the argument. Still it is a long road...as they say. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |
