I use a Sykes Pickavant clutch alignment tool that I've used on every clutch replacement I've done (which is many) for the last 45 years or so.

Prior to getting a clutch alignment tool, I'd always used a deep socket or a 1/2 inch extension bar with a few layers of electrical tape wrapped round to thicken it up, never had any problems. 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop

I still fail to see why alignment tools for the TDV6 engine are so common and not so for the TD5.
