A plan ?????

They're just the broker. I wouldn't have thought there's much they can do other than hassle their insurers.

I am always impressed by Admiral (and Bell/Elephant as it is all one company). They are often cheapest for me for none LR insurance and have always had superb customer service from them.

I certainly cant complain with the £50 back on my multicar policy!

Cheers,

One of the UK's biggest motor insurance companies, Admiral, is giving a £25 refund to customers as cars and vans sit idle in the coronavirus pandemic.

The payment will be paid automatically to anyone with a car or van insurance policy with Admiral on 20 April.

The company said it was a "thank you" to customers for staying at home, but also reflected the lower level of claims, benefiting its profits.

Other insurers are under pressure to follow suit.

An applaudable move by them. Thumbs Up

It's a company I will try to remember when my policies are next up for renewal. However, I was struck by the fact that when I have SORN'd other vehicles and looked at lay up policies the premiums have never been cheaper than having them on an ordinary policy that allowed say 4,000 miles per annum. When speaking to insurer's they claimed the risk just wasn't that much smaller...right!

An addition to this from Ireland.

"A number of insurers here have agreed to discount premiums or give refunds to motor customers in recognition of an expected reduction in the volume of claims during the Covid-19 emergency."

"Most of the leading motor insurers including Allianz, AXA, FBD, RSA and Zurich have signed up to the principles, Insurance Ireland said."
