I think you've got them mixed up, the one of the left of the photo (black plastic base) is the original 1985 diesel switch. The right hand one is the type fitted to petrols and all diesel from 200 Tdi onwards. The early diesel switch is physically bigger as it handles the full current of the glow plugs in the first sprung loaded position before start. As you have the key(s) for the Puma barrel and you have a 300 Tdi engine, use the Puma barrel and switch (white base). You will need to change the main incoming power feed (brown/white) from a 9.5mm wide female spade to a 6.3mm wide female spade to fit the later switch.
