Heater control fix Puma
With the numerous times the dash has been in and out, the heater control for selecting between lower/windscreen and dash vents wouldn't go past lower and windscreen.

Looking online for a new switch assembly, checked the price and then ignored that and figured i could maybe fix it.

After removing the switch and selector assembly i found the dial that adjusts the 2 cables which in turn adjust the output from the heater box had a piece broken off;

When you turned the dial past lower/windscreen the end of the cable left the track and wouldn't allow you to move it anymore.

I found a piece of plastic from the end of a track saw guide;

I shaped it to fit roughly

Then glued it into place with superglue and an accelerator. Once i had done this, i then used the dremel and a hot knife attachment on the soldering iron to shape the bend in the channel.

After that, i shored up the back edge of the track with solid adhesive/gap filling stuff so the issue wouldn't arise again.

Placed it all back together, re did the seals on the heater venting as they had persished and put the dash back in and all is good Thumbs Up

Lesson learnt that instead of paying £140 for a part, you can probably fix it yourself for no cost and a little time Very Happy
