In the early stages of selling our 90, put an advert on Autotrader, unfortunately Autotrader tag my advert with an import tag, which it's not.
When I challenged Autotrader they say they use Experian for this type of information. I have challenged Experian they say they obtain their information from DVLA. I have also conducted HPI searches from RAC, HPI and Cazana all say they get their data from DVLA. On contacting the DVLA they claim they dont have any markers or flags on my vehicle saying its an import, they confirm that the vehicle is a UK car, registered in June 2007 in the UK. I did speak to someone outside the DVLA they claim that often the DVLA dont know what is going within that org, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Has anyone else had similar or provide pointers? thanks for reading Jumped ship to reliability - Mitsubishi L200 Puma 90 XS - Sold D3 - 2.7 S x2 (both Sold) Freelander 2 HSE - Sold Freelander 1 - Sold Disco 2 - Sold |

I got a pull by the local traffic police a while ago as my personal registration did not tie up with my vehicle. According to the cops it belonged on a red disco - my previous vehicle. They believed me when I assured them the number had been on my 90 for a number of years and had been road taxed etc in all that time with that reg no. They said it sometimes happens that their PNC data does not come back correctly even though their data was supplied by DVLA. I contacted DVLA myself to find out what details they had for me and all was as it should be. Trouble is if anything happens to my motor some lad in Wales will have plod at his door as that is where my registration mark will lead them to

Same happened to me in a 2002 90 I bought. Private plate came up on ANPR as not belonging to my car. I saw the blue lights coming so pushed my way off the road in the crowds outside the open golf at Birkdale to allow the car through. It was me they were after. I got loads of grief off the two bobbys until the driver turned and I recognised him.
Whilst working on the beach When I was a kid he had been called to check out somebody making a porno. Ended up on the front page on the Sunday sport in his uniform. When I reminisced about that I was quickly released and they mumbled something about updates being delayed. |
