Work halogen lamp and Reverse led lamp
Hi to all. My work lamp (rear) has continuous power supply. I just wonder, when reversing, if I could also have it in addition to the led reverse light? Any thoughts? Thanks a lot! Georgios

That’s what many of us have done.

Switch that is off, on permanently, or on with reverse lights.

Works well, and is an easy add. I didn’t bother with relay to control lights, as power consumption is so low with LED.

Basically yes.

To the switch you provide a
live from reverse lights, (I got my live from tow bar loom electrics)
Permanent live, (you already have this as you have a light)

I used a switch that has three settings. 1-on. 2-off. 3-reverse live.

It spends all its time in the reverse setting, so every time I select reverse my two rear work lights also light up.

If I’m working out the back switch to setting 1 (on)

And position 2 (off) is there if anyone wants to be picky about the law saying I’m not allowed the extra lights whilst on the road. (Never happened yet with 3 Defenders, over many years, even getting inspected by VOSA, or during MOT’s.)
