I agree with Glynn, with all the numerous Defenders I've owned I've never broken a door-card in day to day use. There are surely far more discreet DIY options. Steve.

[Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

I'm with GP and MG. I wear boots all the time and I've yet to damage a door card ( my wife equates me to a bull in a china shop
 ) They do get scuffed and muddy but a soapy cloth soon brings them back to looking newish  I'm just looking over at my wifes desk and notice she has a virgin role of Fablon on it, me thinks that would be a discreet low cost option to the muck and scuffs on the door cards. May give it a try (then again maybe not, I'm not that brave to take it  ) |

They look a bit "Max Power" for me, in fact ALL chequer plate ruins the Defender as it requires driling into the panels.. imagine doing that to any other car? 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

It would be cheaper to buy a cheap load space mat from Paddocks, cut the relevant size pieces from it and stick them to the door trim. It would look good too and protect the trim from dirt. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

"Back to Black" silicone wax keeps it black and scuffs/mud just wipe off.
I couldn't fit those protectors to mine as the door card sits tight to the seat base on the drivers side, not even a 1mm gap, so plate would be bent first time I slammed the door shut.  LANDYWATCH

Well binned that idea just going to stick something on the bottom, just needed something as I have a few issues with my hip and have seem to got into the habit of holding the door open with my foot as it always seems to try and attack me whilst getting in and out.
