Boost pin/ring with an active egr?
I plan on fitting the fourby range of pins and rings to my 300tdi soon but I just have a question about the egr..

I know that the whole 'egr and mot' thing is discussed quite a lot but I plan on blanking the egr and fitting an egt probe in its place soon and when it's due for an MOT I will be putting the egr back on to pass the mot.

Will there be any negative effects having the boost pins and rings installed whilst the egr valve is back in temporary action?

Just leave the EGR off for the MOT, mines been removed for years on various vehicles, still passes the MOT. The centre I use only does MOT's, does not do servicing, so they should know what should and should not pass.

The current MOT doesn't test for what the EGR valve does, so it won't affect the emissions test. Darren
