Motul Inugel Optimal meets specs. (I personally suggest pre mixed but costs some more.)

Personally I used the thermostat hose as the drain point.

Can anyone tell me what the longevity of the engine coolant is, ie Texaco XLC?
Steve, the motul one from Opie oils you have found looks ideal looking at the specs.
Is changing it all out a difficult job, there appears to be pipework everywhere Neutral

Drain from the thermostat drain hose, not too bad a job.
You do need the workshop manual for the bleeding process however or the info may be on here already.
It isn't very complicated, just takes a bit of time,

I changed my own water pump and I'm not an expert mechanic / engineer so you should be fine.
The Motul does meet all specs, in mine I used pre mix and I noticed the running temp was down just a couple of degrees which is good.
On my gauge before it was half way, after a touch below half way in normal conditions.
I'm not keen on the concentrate method as it can introduce a lot of impurities into the system using tap water as it isn't de-ionised and giu can get calcium build up etc etc.
Lifespan is about 5 years so, to me cost on that isn't a huge issue.

Please be responsible with disposal, don't let animals get near it. (Poisonous.) and keep off of paintwork.
But you no doubt already know this.
Thumbs Up

Puma quantity of fluid required is just over 10 litres I think approximately so you need 11L. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I simply drained mine from the fuel cooler hoses, squeeze and pull off, remove the coolant header tank cap and the screw in the heater hose.

All quite easy and can be done with no tools except a large flat blade screw driver for the top hose screw plug, took me 1 hour max. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Thank you for the info chaps. Two questions though; where is the thermostat and the screw in the heater hose located?
Best to ask to save me rooting around resulting in much head scratching.
Oh, when draining off would a builders bucket (clean of course) be suffice to catch the old coolant as I wouldn’t want to spill any prior to disposal.
