Sounds like the switch has failed. This usually takes the form of the plastic that holds the brass contacts melting and allowing them to move, hence the intermittent nature of the problem as it heats up and cools down. Darren

Out of curiosity.

No I haven’t a upgraded loom do I need one are they exspencive and could I fit one?

I had identical symptoms on my Td5 90. It was the pink headlight relay 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Yes dipped beam but when I loose dipped beam I can still get high beam if I hold long stalk on flash
